Dynamics and nonmonotonic drag for individually driven skyrmions

چکیده

We examine the motion of an individual skyrmion driven through assembly other skyrmions in absence quenched disorder. The behavior is determined by ratio damping and Magnus terms, known as intrinsic Hall angle. For fixed drive dominated regime, effective viscosity decreases monotonically with increasing density. In contrast, velocity varies nonmonotonically density, there a regime which moves faster well pronounced speed-up effect traveling dense medium more rapidly than for low densities or single-particle limit. velocity-force curves Magnus-dominated exhibit overshoot differences from damping-dominated regime. find finite threshold force increases density drive-dependent map dynamic phase diagrams showing motion, nonlinear flow, speed-up, saturation regimes. some cases, can reduce angle while producing boost, could be valuable applications.

Dynamics of Baby Skyrmions

Baby Skyrmions are topological solitons in a (2+1)-dimensional field theory which resembles the Skyrme model in important respects. We apply some of the techniques and approximations commonly used in discussions of the Skyrme model to the dynamics of baby Skyrmions and directly test them against numerical simulations. Specifically we study the effect of spin on the shape of a single baby Skyrmi...

Dynamics of Moving and Spinning Skyrmions

We study the intermediateand long-range forces between moving and spinning Skyrmions, employing two different methods. One uses a relativised product ansatz for the Skyrme fields, the other models Skyrmions as triplets of scalar dipoles. The methods lead to the same finite-dimensional Lagrangian dynamical system which may be interpreted as a point-particle approximation to Skyrmion dynamics. We...

Drag Reduction by Surfactant Solutions in Gravity Driven Flow Systems

Efflux time measurements are carried out for gravity draining of a liquid from a large cylindrical tank (where the flow is essentially laminar) through single exit pipe in the absence and presence of Cetyl Pyridinium Chloride (CPC) surfactant solutions. The variables considered are initial height of liquid in the tank, dia. of tank, length of the exit pipe and concentration of surfactant. T...

Planar Skyrmions: Vibrational Modes and Dynamics

We study Skyrmion dynamics in a (2+1)-dimensional Skyrme model. The system contains a dimensionless parameter α, with α = 0 corresponding to the O(3) sigmamodel. If two Skyrmions collide head-on, then they can either coalesce or scatter — this depends on α and on the incident speed v, and is affected by transfer of energy to and from the internal vibrational modes of the Skyrmions. We classify ...

Current-driven dynamics of skyrmions stabilized in MnSi nanowires revealed by topological Hall effect

Skyrmions hold promise for next-generation magnetic storage as their nanoscale dimensions may enable high information storage density and their low threshold for current-driven motion may enable ultra-low energy consumption. Skyrmion-hosting nanowires not only serve as a natural platform for magnetic racetrack memory devices but also stabilize skyrmions. Here we use the topological Hall effect ...
